I’m reading a little something next week and you’re invited

Dear readers,

I’m reading! Out loud.

On Thursday, September 17, at 7 pm EDT, I’ll be participating in a virtual salon and podcast recording session.

I’ll read a five-minute excerpt from my memoir manuscript, Ship Shape: a queer memoir at sea, which traces my two weeks of travels in 2018 from Boston, to the harbor towns of Ireland, to the lounges and bedsheets of the world’s last great ocean liner.

If you’ve been in writing workshops with me or happened to be at my Drinks & Dessert Talent Show in February 2020, the excerpt I’m reading will be familiar: halfway through my transatlantic crossing, riding the ship’s elevator from the galley to the top deck, an older gentleman makes me an unusual proposition.

Intrigued? Come and tune in!

The salon is put on by Prose Playground, an online writing community several hundred strong that I was lucky to sort of accidentally fall into late last year. It’s run by the effervescent and widely published Joselin Linder and is full of talented and accomplished writers—a handful of whom will also be reading on Thursday evening.

I’d love to see you there.

You can join the event on September 17 via the direct Zoom link.

If you’re a writer or writing-curious, you’re welcome to join the Prose Playground community. You can both register for the Zoom AND join Prose Playground here (it’s free).

Let me know if you plan to tune in!

Shana tova u’m’tukah—a good and sweet new year to those who celebrate this weekend,
